my chuck system will be different to the original because the emco spec one has a control board, the pneumatic unit which is something that i think is a multi control switcher and regulator that then feeds all the pneumatic parts, and then from there are seperate switching device and regulators for each function.

i dont need electric tailstock but what i would like to do is "trick" the machine, and use a spare control signal like this tailstock one for my coolant, and do similar things with other functions, its got to be possible, there are diagrams in the electric documention for most of these functions but it gets vague or non existent when it comes to the info on how to connect it all up.

I have seen a lathe just like mine with the full pneumatic system (door, chuck, blow out) all done i assume in the emco spec, had the belt spindle door with enlarged area compartment to accomodate the rotary union for chuck, had the door regulater behing the black emergency switch compartment with same extended black housing that went right to the back mounted against the red system cabinet, and waas all nice and neatly setup. a6l gy 010, i have basically everything for the chuck, some parts i have are festo, but do the same as the emco parts which were bosch, the machine supports electric tailstock, automatic door, pnuematic chuck and blow out device. This is what i have pc turn 50 a6m 311 000 01g, a6m 106, fab no.
Depending on the control platforms it will have either 6 or 9 axes s a lot of work and not cutting corners but again everything except the digital control side of things is going smoothly, I still trying to find certain things with rotation axes other communication setup things. All possible because of some amazing discoveries.
I'm building a 6/9 axis mill turn about 200 between centres 90mm swing,x 100mmx, 150mmy, 50mmx2, 100mmz2, C1and2 subspindle fixed linear b or a axis, fixed tool turret on xz saddle, live tool turret with a separate main milling spindle all on xyz saddle with a/b swivel axis. If I could add more axes, somehow introduce them to fanuc/or other winnc compatible systems, I will be very happy although I am putting together another machine that will get me that stuff.

But if i can get any form of "ping" and or controllable length gates from that sps unit corresponding to the kb and m code supported functions, I can get nearly to where I want, which is a automatically fed lathe with 2 types of coolant. I've done some quite complex things with electronics and everything but when anything digital starts being the basis of operation and control, there are some big holes in my knowledge. But I found this (picture) of something that I hope will get the ball rolling, sorry for what may be a stupid question but when I make music I still record to tape sort of thing.is the robotic interface a io board or something? also not sure about the dnc interface? Im wondering if I still need additional electronics to get signal in and out of the lathe. I really need to reinstall all the stuff because I am using a version 2.2 of winnc that doesn't even have winconfig only because after some experimenting with some settings my winnc version 14.12 dropped connection with my fanuc kb and other weird bugs.
